We are pleased to invite you to take part in the International Scientific Conference “Current Problems of Modern Biochemistry” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of professor Borys Fedorovych Sukhomlynov, that will be held in Lviv on the 16-18th of November 2016.

The Conference is organized by Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Institute of Cell Biology NAS of Ukraine, All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Ukrainian Society of Cell Biology”, O. V. Palladin Institute of Biochemistry NAS of Ukraine, Ukrainian Biochemical Society and University of Rzeszow.

The graduates of the Department of Biochemistry and the scientists conducting research in all fields of biology and biomedicine are invited for the participation in the Conference.

The Department of Biochemistry is involved in educational and scientific activity. Students of the Department after graduating the University obtain qualifications “Biologist. Biochemist. Teacher of biology and chemistry”. The Department also provides the possibility of distance learning with subsequent gaining of qualifications “Biologist. Teacher of biology and chemistry”.

Graduates of the Department work as researchers in research institutes in Ukraine and abroad, as lecturers in colleges, universities and other educational establishments specializing in the study of biology on a molecular-biological basis, as well as in pharmaceutical and food industries, biotechnological and biochemical laboratories of medical institutions, laboratories of ecological monitoring, etc.

The lecturers of the Department of Biochemistry teach academic courses in "Biochemistry", "Molecular Biology", "Radiobiology" as well as 20 special courses.



The scientific subdivision of the Department is represented by the research laboratory of molecular and radiation biology with a staff of 6 researchers. The scientific interests lie in the investigation of molecular mechanisms of influence of small doses of radiation.
